EFEKTIVITAS PENGGUNAAN PICTURE SERIES DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOSAKATA BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA

Abstract
Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk menyelidiki ada atau tidaknya keefektifan penggunaan picture series dalam meningkatkan kosakata bahasa inggris kelas 1 SD ‘Ainul Hayat. Eksperimen semu adalah proses pengkajian yang digunakan dengan desain non equivalent control group design. Teknik yang dipilih untuk mengelompokkkan data adalah teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan pretest posttest yang dilakukan terhadap 46 siswa yang mencakup kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji statistik menunjukan bahwa bukti yang diaplikasikan berdistribusi normal dengan nilai signifikasi 0,705 > 0,05 dan mempunyai varians yang seimbang atau homogen dengan nilai signifikasi 0,359 > 0.05. Hitungan uji hipotesis independent sample t-test didapat angka Sig.(2-tailed) pada equal variances assumed sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Maka Hoditolak karena (Sig) < a, dengan demikian Ha diterima akhirnya bisa dirumuskan bahwa ditemukan perbandingan hasil kemahiran perbendaharaan kata bahasa Inggris yang berarti antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Keputusan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini penggunaan picture series efektif untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris kelas I di SD ‘Ainul Hayat.
