Peer Review

All manuscripts submitted to the Jurnal Agroindustri Halal must follow this journal's Focus, Scope, and Author Guidelines. Submitted manuscripts must meet scientific value or novelty following the focus and scope of this journal.

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must be written in good Indonesian or English. Authors whose native language is not English must have their manuscripts grammatically checked before submission. Manuscripts may not be published or submitted elsewhere while the manuscript is being reviewed.

The Editor in Chief and Section Editors will evaluate manuscripts submitted at the prequalification stage for suitability for further review processes. The review process used in this journal is a double-blind peer review. Manuscripts will be evaluated by two qualified peer reviewers and selected by the Editor in Chief and Section Editors. Peer reviewers must check the manuscript and return it with recommendations to the Editor in Chief and Section Editors as soon as possible, within a maximum of 3 weeks. If one of the peer reviewers recommends rejection, the Editor in Chief will ask a third reviewer or Section Editor to decide whether to accept or reject the manuscript. Peer reviewers provide quality scientific comments to improve the content of the manuscript. If necessary, a third peer reviewer is required to provide critical comments on the submitted manuscript.

Manuscripts that require revision will be returned to the author, and the author must return the revised manuscript to the Editor in Chief via OJS Jurnal Agroindustri Halal. The Editor in Chief sends the revised manuscript to the Section Editor to check whether the manuscript was revised as suggested by the peer reviewers. The Section Editor can recommend to the editor-in-chief that the manuscript be returned to the author, accepted or rejected within 2 weeks. After the editor-in-chief sends the acceptance letter, the manuscript is forwarded to the Technical Editor for the editing and layout. The Editor in Chief will send a publication announcement letter to the author.

There are four steps in the revision process by the author:

  1. Revision to accommodate the Section Editor's suggestions (prequalification step) within 2 weeks.
  2. Revision to accommodate peer reviewer suggestions within 2-4 weeks.
  3. Revision to accommodate Section Editor suggestions within 2-4 weeks (if any).
  4. Revision to accommodate editorial requests within 1 week (if any).

Authors can request an extension of revision time from the Editor. The time interval from when a manuscript is submitted to acceptance for publication varies, depending on the time required for the review and revision process.

The Editor in Chief makes the final decision on manuscript acceptance. The final decision on the manuscript is based solely on the Editor's last review which considers peer-reviewer comments (but not solely by the Reviewer).
