PRODUKSI TELUR BURUNG PUYUH YANG DIBERI AIR MINUM LARUTAN DAUN SIRIH

Abstract
Daun sirih memiliki potensi sebagai anti biotik pengganti antibiotik komersil karena mempunyai karakteristik sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji performa produksi produksi telur burung puyuh yang diberi minum larutan daun sirih (Piper betle LINN) dalam air minum. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah: R0: Air minum + antibiotik komersil; R1: Air minum + 5 ml larutan daun sirih / liter air; R2 : Air minum + 10 ml larutan daun sirih / liter air; R3: Air minum R0 + 15 ml larutan daun sirih / liter air; R4: Air minum + 20 ml larutan daun sirih / liter air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian larutan daun sirih pada burung puyuh berpengaruh tidak berpengaruh produksi telur, konversi ransum, indeks kualitas telur dan tebal kerabang telur. Pemberian larutan daun sirih dalam air minum puyuh petelur dapat menggantikan suplemen antibiotik komersil.
