PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI DUOLINGO PADA KELOMPOK IBU-IBU RUMAH TANGGA

ABSTRACTThe problems faced by the partners are (1) the positive and negative impacts of gadgets/smartphones for early childhood; (2) learn English vocabulary which is often considered boring. The community partnership program is carried out by providing socialization about the definition and understanding the good and bad impacts of early childhood playing gadgets and providing training on English learning models based on Android applications (for example with the Duolingo application) in Curug Village, Cimanggis Depok. The method used in achieving the goals is prepared to start from the PGRI Indraprasta University with socialization and training materials for the community, namely understanding the good and bad impacts of early childhood playing gadgets, Duolingo applications, props, and aids that will be used to the training. The activity began by holding outreach to the community about understanding the good and bad impacts of early childhood playing with gadgets and providing training on the Android application based on the English learning model. The training is given the theory first, and then continued with participant simulation, then hands-on practice. Through this training, mothers' concern for early childhood character education is increasing. Mothers are aware of the importance of mentoring and supervising the use of technology by children to create a smart and character generation in the millennial era in Curug Village, Cimanggis Depok.

ABSTRAKMasalah yang dihadapi mitra adalah (1) dampak positif dan negatif gadget/smartphone bagi anak usia dini; (2) mempelajari kosakata (vocabulary) Bahasa Inggris yang sering kali dianggap membosankan. Program kemitraan masyarakat dilakukan dengan memberikan sosialisasi tentang pengertian serta pemahaman dampak baik dan buruknya anak usia dini bermain gadget serta memberikan pelatihan tentang model pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berbasis aplikasi Android (sebagai contoh dengan aplikasi Duolingo) di Desa Curug, Cimanggis Depok. Metode yang dipakai dalam pencapaian tujuan adalah persiapan dimulai dari kampus Universitas Indraprasta PGRI dengan materi-materi sosialisasi dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat, yaitu pemahaman dampak baik dan buruknya anak usia dini bermain gadget, aplikasi Duolingo, alat-alat peraga dan alat bantu yang akan digunakan untuk pelatihan. Kegiatan dimulai dengan mengadakan sosialisasi pada masyarakat tentang pemahaman dampak baik dan buruknya anak usia dini bermain gadget serta memberikan pelatihan tentang model pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berbasis aplikasi Android. Pelatihan diberikan teorinya terlebih dahulu, kemudian diteruskan dengan simulasi peserta, selanjutnya praktek langsung. Melalui pelatihan ini, kepedulian para ibu terhadap pendidikan karakter anak usia dini semakin meningkat. Para ibu sadar pentingnya pendampingan dan pengawasan terhadap penggunaan teknologi oleh anak-anak demi mewujudkan generasi cerdas dan berkarakter di era millenal di Desa Curug, Cimanggis Depok.
