Abstract

This article examines the sacredness and demarcation of Makkah and Islamicjerusalem, two vital sites in Islamic tradition. Makkah, home to the Ka'bah, is recognized as the first place of worship for humanity and is designated as a Haram, where strict prohibitions ensure its sanctity. Islamicjerusalem, or Bayt al-Maqdis, is significant for its association with the Prophet Muhammad's night journey and ascension, and is celebrated as a Land of Barakah, revered for its spiritual blessings. The study highlights both the similarities and differences between these locations: Makkah's exclusive restrictions compared to Islamicjerusalem's inclusive nature, while underscoring their shared prophetic connections. Ultimately, the article reinforces the profound religious significance of both sites, as articulated in the Qur'an and Hadith, and emphasizes their interlinked roles in Islamic history and spirituality.
